Hi, I’m Rob, you might know me! I’m a marketing graduate and a CELTA-qualified English tutor.
I started englishINcambridge.com five years ago, but I started teaching English many years ago in 1996 when I was living in Madrid, Spain. I have now been teaching in Cambridge for 15 years, working at some of the language schools in the city until becoming self-employed.
I enjoy teaching students from all over the world, from 35 countries and five continents, and still counting. I calculate I have taught over 12,000 students!
I have had the pleasure of forming long-lasting friendships and have visited Africa, South America and many countries on the European continent to visit former students who are now good friends.
My classes are a mixture of structured learning with grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, and fun and topical conversations. We can drink English tea in a local cafe, do some serious studying in the library or learn online at your home or office.
I try and choose interesting material for my classes and use a range of excellent course books. Most are available from Amazon or in pdf.
A bit more about me. I graduated from university in Hull with a marketing degree after previously working as an electronic engineer in my hometown of Leicester.
I then spent a wonderful few years travelling the world, spending time living in the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Spain.
Being from Leicester I’m a big Leicester City FC fan. We are still celebrating our miraculous Premier League win in 2016!
My life now involves raising my wonderful children, Natasha and Joshua, in the beautiful city of Cambridge. They are both busy with their secondary school work and playing sport. Natasha is an excellent cricket player and Joshua loves to play football.
As well the many individual students who have studied with me, I have had the pleasure of working with many businesses and public organisations thought the world.
